We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our friendly, patient-centred practice. With a list size of around 5,000 patients, we offer a supportive working environment with an experienced clinical and administrative team. As a recognised training practice, we are dedicated to ongoing learning, development, and high-quality care. This role offers 4 or 5 sessions per week, with a preference for sessions on Monday and Thursday, and provides an excellent opportunity for a GP looking to work in a warm, well-organised practice with opportunities to develop clinical and teaching skills.
Main duties of the job
Provide high-quality clinical care to patients, including consultations, telephone/video appointments, and home visits where required
Manage acute and chronic conditions following practice protocols and clinical guidelines
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective patient care
Participate in clinical meetings, audit, and quality improvement activities
Contribute to the supervision and training of GP trainees and students (if desired)
Maintain accurate, high-quality clinical records
Prescribe safely and appropriately in line with local and national guideline

Job Purpose:
To provide high-quality, patient-centred primary medical services as part of the practices multidisciplinary team, contributing to safe, effective, and compassionate care. The role includes clinical sessions, administrative tasks, and active participation in practice development and training opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:

Provide consultations for acute, chronic, and preventive care within agreed sessional time

Undertake telephone, online, and face-to-face appointments

Manage long-term conditions according to national and local guidelines
-
Undertake home visits when clinically necessary

Provide clinical expertise, diagnostics, and decision-making with appropriate referral and follow-up

Prescribe safely and appropriately in line with prescribing policies

Request and interpret investigations, ensuring timely action and communication of results

Deliver patient-centred care, respecting individual needs and preferences
Administrative & Practice Duties:

Maintain accurate, comprehensive medical records using the practice clinical system

Review pathology results, repeat prescriptions, and patient correspondence

Participate in clinical meetings, significant event reviews, and quality improvement activities

Contribute to QOF, IIF, and local enhanced services to support overall practice performance

Engage in safeguarding processes for children and adults at risk
