Main duties of the job

Clinical Responsibilities
  • Provide highquality general medical care to registered patients, including:
    • Facetoface, telephone, and online consultations
    • Diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions
  • Undertake routine and urgent clinical appointments in line with the agreed sessions
  • Manage and review clinical correspondence, pathology results, and reports
  • Prescribe safely and costeffectively in accordance with local and national guidelines
OnCall / Duty Doctor Responsibility (Essential Requirement)
  • Act as the oncall / duty GP for one day per week (or on a rota basis)
  • Responsibilities typically include:
    • Managing sameday urgent clinical requests
    • Providing clinical advice and supervision to the wider clinical team
    • Reviewing and triaging urgent results and clinical messages
    • Supporting the safe management of unplanned patient demand
