Job summary

We are looking to appoint a full time fixed term 6 months clinical coder/ medical summariser to joing our friendly GP practice team in Gainsborough .

The practice is moving towards becoming a paper-light environment, and the main responsibilities of the post-holder will be to summarise and read code relevant information from the patients clinical records and docman correspondence into the practice computer system, workingstrictlyin accordance with the practice notessummarizingprotocol.

Furthermore, the role will also include the summarizing of patient records, both paper and electronic.

Main duties of the job

  • To be responsible for the SNOMED coding of relevant information into patients electronic medical records on the EMIS web clincial system.
  • Main duties/key tasks: Culling and sorting patient records and letters in preparation for summarizing. Reviewing medical records and producing an accurate summary of the patients medical history. Read coding the information into the practice clinical system. Auditing data collection standards in the practice monitoring progress of notes summarizing against practice targets, monitoring patient call and recall systems. Filing and retrieving paperwork. Streamlining the flow of clinical correspondence through the organization reducing the number of letters with a GP needs to process- where there is uncertainty, it will be forwarded to a clinician for safety. confidentiality: In the course of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters. We are a large 12,000 patient registered practice with a friendly supportive team in situ . We have 3 ANPs , 5 GPs , 2 PNs , 2 HCAs, 3 Medical secretaries , 3 Administrators and a lovely large team of receptionists .

Automatic enrolment into the NHS pension will be provided as is 25 days holidays per anum pro rata
