Job summary
We are looking to recruit a motivated and committed Phlebotomist to join our friendly and supportive team.
The post is for 7.5 hours, 8am to 4.30pm on a Friday.
You will be working alongside our existing Practice Nurses
and GP Assistants but be confident and skilled enough to work alone.
Experience of dressings, health checks, performing ECG's, and assisting in minor surgery
sessions would be desirable, although we can offer training.
Ability to perform venepuncture is essential.
You will be a team player, able to prioritise your workload
and remain calm under pressure.

Main duties of the job
- Obtaining patient consent for the collection of a blood samples
- Performing venepuncture in accordance with practice protocols
- Maintaining accurate patient records on Emis web
- The correct labelling, packaging and storing of samples
- Ensuring samples are sent to the laboratory in a timely manner
- Working collaboratively with the nursing team, seeking guidance when necessary for patient related matters
- Adhering to the practices Infection, Prevention and Control policy
