Job summary
We are a fast-growing GP Practice (rated Outstanding by CQC) and are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly individual to join our administration team.
The successful candidate will need excellent communication skills, be highly organised, have a positive attitude and be able to work autonomously.
Main duties of the job
To manage the flow of non-NHS requests from patients and third parties ensuring efficient use of practice resources. Typically, these may include, insurance and medical reports, subject access requests, DVLA and TFL reports and examinations, fitness certificates and to whom it may contain letters. This will require careful management of expectations from the outset, strict observation of GDPR, judicious use of clinical resource, organisation of multiple workflows and diligent record keeping. Training will be provided but the individual is expected to be able to work autonomously.

There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will depend on factors such as workload and staffing levels.
Collecting requests from multiple sources: email, paper, on-line forms and iGPR. This will require a systematic approach and careful record keeping, staying on top of multiple requests
Assessing the feasibility of requests and reviewing patient records where necessary
Contacting the patient or third party to agree limitations of service, timeline and costs
Careful record keeping monitoring progress and ensure audit trail of work
Downloading patient records for subject access requests and reviewing for GDPR and sensitivity of patient data
Booking work into clinician sessions as appropriate using EMIS and supporting clinicians where necessary, such as providing hard copy notes
Staying on top of work, chasing when necessary
Uploading documentation to patient records in EMIS
