Job summary
We are looking for a GP Assistant to join our multi-disciplinary primary care team. the Role will support our clinical teams in caring for our population in GPNET5 in Croydon.

Our new role of GP Assistant is part of those plans.
A GP Assistant will support the smooth running of clinics by performing routine administrative and clinical tasks on behalf of the GP freeing up their time to provide better access.
You will work closely with patients, management teams , partners and external contacts.
You will be working for Friends Road Medical Practice who with four other practices form GPNET5 and you will be joining an established team of three other GP Assistants.

GPNET5 PCN is made up of 5 Practices, Birdhurst Medical Practice, Friends Road Medical Practice, Haling Park Medical Practice, Stovell House Surgery & Violet Lane Medical Practice.
This role gives the exciting opportunity to work with a large committed team and to help shape the delivery of services and projects to the patient population. This role will be pivotal to supporting the patient population of all 5 member Practices.

Sorting all clinical post and prioritising for the GP in terms of
actions
Signposting some post to others such as clinical pharmacist etc.
Extracting all information from clinical letters that needs coding and
adding to notes
Arranging appointments, referrals, tests and follow up
appointments of patients
Completing basic (non-opinion) forms and core elements of some forms for
the GP to approve and sign such as insurance forms, mortgage, benefits agency
forms etc.
Explaining treatment procedures to patients.
Helping the GP liaise with outside agencies
