Job summary

We are looking to employ an enthusiastic practice nurse to join our busy 4 partner training practice.

You will join a clinical team of 4 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, GP trainees, 1 Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 1 Practice Nurse, 1 Paramedic and 1 GP Assistant, led by the Practice Manager & Operations Manager.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, flexible and well organised. They will have ideally have experience in general practice, specifically undertaking chronic disease reviews and cervical smears. We will however be happy to support a newly qualified, or experienced secondary care nurse into the role, for the right candidate.

Your role will also consist of a variety of duties including Health Promotion, Chronic disease management, Childhood/routine Immunisations & vaccinations and Travel clinics.

Salary would be dependent on previous experience, qualifications and scope of practice.

We are happy to consider full and part-time applications (minimum 25 hours per week).

Interviews to take place with Practice Manager and GP Partner on morning of Fri 28 June. Applications may close sooner if there is sufficient demand.

Main duties of the job

  • Chronic disease management & annual reviews: Diabetes, Asthma, Hypertension, COPD.
  • New patient medicals / NHS Health Checks.

The New Hall Lane Practice is a long-established, 4 partner, family practice with a list size of around 7,200 patients, centrally located in the heart of Preston.

We are a multi-cultural, dynamic and friendly team who work hard to provide quality care and clinical excellence, backed by high QOF & IIF achievements.

We take pride in being a long-standing training practice for ST2 & 3 doctors and Medical Students from Lancaster University.

We use the EMIS Web clinical system.

We are an active member of our 10 practice PCN - Greater Preston PCN and part of Lancashire & South Cumbria ICB.
