This exciting and challenging role is working for NHS Blood and Transplant – a Special Health Authority, dedicated to saving and improving lives through the wide range of services it provides to the NHS. Role Summary – what is the job about?

The role will involve mobilising and management of programmes and projects, agreeing funding and scope through to delivery and completion. We have a large portfolio of complex, sometimes high risk projects/programmes and the role is key in managing inputs and relationships with key parts of the business through the full lifecycle – initiation, definition, delivery of the programme and its defined benefits and then to final closedown.

We are looking for a person who has the vision and purpose to deliver different types of organisational change – particularly in the areas of;

  • Construction of a new facility and relocation of staff & services
  • Development of new manufacturing and processing technologies (Gene therapies)
  • Development and gap analysis of a target operating model in readiness for delivery
  • Transition planning whilst maintaining current operations
  • Benefits management ensuring that financial & non-financial targets are met
  • Financial tracking of the programme
  • Purchasing of capital and revenue equipment and services
  • Reporting progress to all appropriate internal and external governing bodies & escalating risks and issues as required
  • Staff recruitment, training and consultation
  • IT deployments e.g. networks, telephony, desktop
  • Running and documenting constructive highly focussed meetings
  • Communications and engagement with both external and internal stakeholders incl. regulators
  • Decommissioning of old site and handover of new site to facilities ensuring that relevant documentation in place
  • Aligning with internal QA processes and requirements and ensuring compliance with stringent regulation

We need individuals who have substantial and successful experience in the delivery of change programmes with a high level of business acumen, programme management, planning and organisational skills and working in a challenging stakeholder environment. Essential to the role are;
