Staff Nurse

We are looking to recruit experienced and newly qualified nurses with an interest in acute medical Gastroenterology/Hepatology nursing and who are passionate about patient care.

As an experienced nurse, you will have the opportunity to further develop your skills and knowledge in this area and as a newly qualified nurse you will have the opportunity to consolidate your learning while developing your skills and knowledge.

We understand how important it is for you to get a balanced work and home life and will be willing to offer part and full time positions with a flexible workers plan to be discussed and agreed if successful.

C5 is a busy acute medical Gastroenterology/Hepatology ward. The patient group is complex presenting with conditions including; pre and post transplant liver care; acute/chronic liver disease; oesophageal strictures and cancers; inflammatory bowel disease;eating disorders and patients that require nutritional support.

We are dedicated to providing the optimum care for this group of patients and work as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team to enable us to achieve this. The team includes the IBD and stoma nurses; dieticians; nutrition nurses;hepatology nurse specialists and the alcohol specialist nurse service. As a team member you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of optimal quality care and safety.

Examples of training skills that will be available to you will include:Communication within the multidisciplinary team;PICC line use and maintenance;Placing of NG feeding tubes and ;Care of Enteral Feeds;Management of the detoxing patient and enhancing/developing leadership skills.
