Position: Paediatric Care Support Worker (Bank) Location: Alder Hey Children’s Hospital Foundation Trust, West Derby, Liverpool Pay Rates: Band 2 NHS Professionals are currently recruiting Paediatric Care Support Workers to work at the award-winning Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in one of the largest paediatric hospitals in Europe, designed and inspired by children. Joining NHS Professionals to work at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital gives you total flexibility to pick up shifts when it’s convenient for you. Long day shifts and night shifts (as well as flexible hours upon request) are available across the Trust. Requirements To apply for this post, you should: • Have a minimum of 3 months Paediatrics CSW UK (Private or NHS) hospital experience within the last two years • Be currently studying Child Nursing (Student Nurse) and completed a minimum of 12 week’s clinical placement OR have an NVQ Level 2 or above in Health and Social Care Responsibilities • Provide nursing care and support to young people under the direction and supervision of the senior nurse/ clinical team. • Enable young people to participate in community based activities. • Ensure daily housekeeping in line with service needs. • Assist in maintaining and developing high standard of patient care, by awareness of individual needs, following defined nursing care plans and working within related policies and procedures. • Contribute towards effective communication, by reporting to nurse in charge any information given by patient/relative, incident or observation which may affect patients’ physical/mental well-being. • Understand the importance of, and maintain, the need for confidentiality in all patient matters. • Work as an assistant in therapeutic activities, group work and life skills with the support and guidance of senior staff.
