Princess Alexandra Hospital is conveniently located in Harlow, Essex just 25 minutes drive to London Stansted Airport and 25 minutes train ride to London Liverpool Street. Harlow also has excellent road connections across England, with the M11, M25, A10, M1 and A1 all on its doorstep.

We are a motivated, enthusiastic and friendly team, the Trust is committed to staff development and offers us strong support. As a NICU our focus is to provide consistently high quality care in a safe, effective, responsive and caring environment for all our babies and their families.

We have 16 cots, with a capacity for 2 intensive care, 4 High Dependency and 10 Special care cots. We have a dedicated Neonatal Community Team, as well as two trainee Advanced Neonatal

Practitioners and a practice development nurse

As new member of the team you will be fully supported by the whole team and we have an excellent in house training and SIM programme .

We are active within the East of England Operational Delivery Network, contributing to pioneering work influencing practices across the East of England Neonatal Networks as well as Nationally.

For this role you will be required to have:

RN/RM or RN Child

Neonatal Nursing qualification

Mentorship qualification

NLS trained

Level 3 safeguarding trained

Effective management and leadership skills

Previous experience working in a Neonatal Unit

NMC Registrants

We are fully committed to supporting you through your NMC revalidation and will provide you will full access to your own personal e-portfolio that can be accessed both from the Trust and your personal devices.

What we can offer

Full induction process, structured pay scheme with annual increments, there is an additional living supplement to your basic salary, minimum 27days annual leave plus bank holidays ( pro rata for part time staff ), NHS Pension scheme, flexible, family friendly working pattern, onsite creche facilities, child care vouchers, annual appraisals with career pathways, in-house training courses, discounted hospital restaurant, occupational health services and complimentary health provision. Onsite accommodation subject to availability.

As a Trust we also provide a 5% High Cost Area Supplement (HCAS) added to the basic salary of all Agenda for Change positions. HCAS IS NOT PAYABLE TO VERY SENIOR MANAGER POSTS. There is a minimum and maximum payment of £951 - £1649. If you work part time the supplement will be based on your part time salary. Medical and Dental positions receive an additional Fringe London Weighting (FLW) supplement of £149 added to the basic salary.

All new staff joining Princess Alexandra Hospital will be subject to a probation period of 6 months.

Priority for this appointment will be awarded to any officially identified NHS staff "at risk"
