The Ambulance Care Assistant role is a crucial role within South Central Ambulance Service, you will work as part of a patient focused team, on a shift basis to collect patients from their home or healthcare setting to attend pre-arranged appointments including hospital admission, taking people home and transferring them between locations. This is a non-emergency patient transport role.

We’re looking for warm, welcoming, friendly and confident people who can help reassure all our patients and deliver high professional levels of service.

What do we need from you:

  • Experience of working in a customer or patient care role.

  • A full current driving licence (with B and C1 categories with no more than 3 points for speeding)*

  • An ability to commit to a three-week, full-time training program (paid and based in Newbury) and ongoing shift work.

The starting holiday entitlement is 27 days per annum (based on full time hours) plus 8 bank holidays (bank contracts accrue one hour to every nine hours worked).
