Our friendly and progressive Pharmacy department are currently looking for a registered Pharmacy Technician to join our Medicines Optimisation team. Medicines optimisation is all about supporting patients so that they get the best possible outcomes from their medicines. It's about talking and engaging with individuals to understand their beliefs and concerns about their medicines and what they would like their medication to achieve. As a clinical pharmacy team we have a vision to ensure that medicines optimisation is at the heart of every patient’s experience and care.

Your new role will involve providing a clinical pharmacy service working at ward level, within clinical specialties and in the dispensary. You will also gain experience wardbased clinical services (including medical and surgical specialties) and patient Services by providing ACT cover. As part of your role in the team you will also support and supervise junior staff in their training.

This post is ideal for someone looking to move into hospital Pharmacy role, although applicants from current 2nd year Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians would also be welcomed. If you are newly qualified or never practiced in hospital pharmacy, we will provide you with an individually tailored 3-6 month induction period where we can build on your previously gained skills to make you a confident and knowledgeable hospital Pharmacy Technician.

We need you to be organised, motivated with the ability to think on your feet with great communication & interpersonal skills. All new starters with the Trust will be subject to a six month probationary period, with the exception of medical and dental candidates.

Current employees should be aware that this position is advertised as a GWH position and appointment ends any TUPE protection.

All candidates are required to pay for their own DBS check where applicable. Standard DBS check costs £26 and will be recovered from the first months pay; Enhanced DBS check costs £44 and will be recovered over the first 2 months pay. (£22 per month)

Bank posts requiring a DBS check; payment must be made prior to commencing.

Apprentices are exempt from DBS payment.
