Band 3, Occupational Therapy Assistant 1.0 WTE, 12 months fixed term contract with possibility for extension.

We are looking for a committed Band 3 Occupational Therapy assistant to work as part of the inpatient Occupational Therapy team at Millview Hospital, the hospital is in the heart of the most vibrant city of Brighton and Hove.

The post holders will be based on Pavilion ward, which is our Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). You would be responsible for delivering group/individual interventions to individuals staying on the ward. You will use specific psycho-social and occupational individual and group interventions. You would also be supporting with some aspects of activities of daily living .

Successful candidates will have strong communication and people skills, a non-judgemental and person-centred recovery approach and above all a real caring attitude and be prepared to make a difference.

The successful candidate will receive regular supervision from an Occupational Therapist in the team. Successful candidates are normally offered salaries at the bottom of the relevant salary range. However, where previous or equivalent NHS experience in a similar role can be demonstrated and evidenced, this may be taken into consideration when setting the starting salary.
