37.5 Hrs per Week

Barts Health is one of the largest Trusts in the UK, with a turnover in excess of £1.25 billion and a workforce of over 15,000 staff. We have wide range of diagnostic specialities due to an acute teaching hospital environment and diversity of the local population. The Cellular Pathology Division provides diagnostic and screening services for the whole of North East London and has a combined workload of 65,000 histology and 105,000 cytology specimens. The successful candidate will be joining a friendly team of scientists and Doctors in a modern laboratory and have the opportunity to learn a wide variety of histology techniques. Our facilities are close to underground and DLR services. The laboratory is awaiting confirmation of UKAS accreditation and is HCPC accredited. Our commitment to supporting continuing professional development is evidenced by an excellent training record.

We are looking for a competent and versatile individual preferably with two years’ experience in Cellular Pathology to provide technical support to the histology service. To be suitable for this role you must have a degree in Biomedical Science and be registered with the HCPC or be ready for registration portfolio assessment.
