Clinical, Counselling or Health Psychologist - band 7

An interesting and exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified clinical, counselling or health psychologist to work on a fixed term basis with people who are suffering from haematological cancers, as well as other cancers or a life threatening condition.

The post is based and managed within one of the most well established NHS health psychology departments in the country.The post is partly and generously supported by LINC, a Gloucestershire haematological cancer charity; the cancer and palliative care psychology portion of the post is Macmillan badged.

1 year fixed term contract

0.8 wte – haematology psychology (0.6wte) and cancer and palliative care psychology (0.2wte)

The Post holder will:

Contribute to the provision and development of psychological care provided to the adult patients of the multi-disciplinary haematology service (6 sessions)

Contribute to the provision and development of psychological services to adults with other types of cancer or other life threatening conditions (2 sessions)

Work with in and out-patients in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital.

Spend three days per week with the busy multi-disciplinary haematology team, closely supported by a senior psychologist and one day per week with the psychologists who provide the psychological service to the cancer and palliative care teams in the trust.
