Blackheath Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre – London, SE10

The centre provides a person-centred inpatient rehabilitation and care for male and female adolescents and adults (over 17 years) with a brain injury or other complex neurological condition.

Throughout their stay with us, our patients are encouraged to make individual choices about all aspects of life at the centre and to be as independent as possible.

The centre is located in South East London close to Blackheath and Lewisham, directly on the A2 with Greenwich, Lewisham and Blackheath stations all close by.

As a Housekeeping Assistant you will be responsible for providing an excellent housekeeping service ensuring a clean safe environment for our patients, visitors and staff. You will be an important part of the team that ensures patients in our care feel valued as an individual.

Most patients and residents are referred via NHS and local authorities. We play an integral part in contributing to new models of care outlined in the Five Year Forward View.

As a Housekeeping Assistant working in our Specialist Brain Injury and Neurological Care Service your main duties will be:

  • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with the Company and regulatory expectations and requirements
  • Creating a pleasant and well maintained environment which will include the immediate external environment
  • Using equipment, materials and machinery to ensure all work is carried out effectively
  • Cleaning duties will include cleaning, washing, sweeping, scrubbing, sanitising, shampooing, reproofing of flame retardant materials, vacuum cleaning, dusting, polishing, damp wiping of all areas within the centre and removal of rubbish and discarded items.
  • Laundry duties will include separating, washing and ironing of client’s clothes, bed and table linen, curtains and soft furnishings and reproofing where required.
  • Reporting of any hazards defects or damage to property or equipment to the Nurse in Charge/Care Manager/Business Manager without delay.
  • Working as part of an important part of the team that ensures patients in our care feel valued as an individual.
