Neurosciences and Spines

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 8a Matron post for Neurosurgery, Neurology and Spinal Services. Nottingham University Hospital is a regional centre for these specialties and is one of the busiest centres in the country. The Neurosurgical and Spinal service has a strong reputation for training and innovation and the multidisciplinary team work closely together to ensure patients receive the best possible care and outcome.

We are looking for a highly motivated professional nurse to undertake the role of Matron. You will have an extensive skill set in nursing management and leadership and be an effective communicator. You will be a positive role model and hold responsibility to support the developments of Clinical Governance and Service Improvement, modernise patient services and ensure the active involvement of patients and carers in the way services are developed, delivered and evaluated.

You will be an integral member of the senior management team for the specialties, working alongside the Head of Service and Specialty General Manager. The post holder will be accountable for a number of wards; managing capacity and flow and the ward teams. As such leadership skills are a must.

All new employees starting work at NUH will be subject to a DBS check and liable for the cost (£49 for enhanced, £31 for standard, £30 for basic).

The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
