An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist to come and be part of a forward thinking occupational therapy service.You will be part of a team who are committed to leading and developing innovative ways of ensuring the occupational needs of people who use our services are a key component of high quality service delivery.

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SABP) is one of the largest Mental Health and Learning Disability Trusts in the South East working collaboratively with, health, social care and voluntary organisations. We also work in partnership with university colleagues to develop research projects and funding streams. SABP’s innovative approach to mental health care has been recognised nationally (HSJ).

Our services for people with learning disabilities provide high quality care within the Deacon Service assessment and treatment unit, intensive support service, and within community teams for people with learning disabilities.

We use the Model of Human Occupation to guide all our OT assessments and interventions. We are committed to an extensive, coordinated CPD programme including supervision, care group and trust wide training, core competence training, and annual conferences. All staff are valued for their expertise in occupationally focused interventions and specialist group therapy.

Location –West Surrey and NE Hants

Based in West Surrey and NE Hants as an Occupational Therapist you are a key member of the Community Learning Disability Health Team. Our team is health based and we work in multidisciplinary way with colleagues to achieve the best health outcomes for the individuals we support. Working alongside a band 6 and band 7 Occupational Therapist, to you will be responsible for your own caseload of clinical work, with regular supervision.

We offer preceptorship and access to a range of structured CPD to support you to develop your skills as an Occupational Therapist.

You will need to:

  • Value the essential role of occupation in maintaining and regaining health and wellbeing.

  • Have good self-management skills

  • Have good reporting writing and assessment skills

  • Have good presentation skills

Please note that all salaries shown are based on whole time of 37.5 hours per week for non-medical roles and 40 hours per week for medical roles, part time roles are pro-rated accordingly.
