About the Department.

Library and Knowledge Services assist ULHT in ensuring excellence in patient care and clinical effectiveness through the dissemination of evidence, best-practice and the latest thinking. The department comprises of four hospital library sites based at Boston, Grantham, Lincoln and Louth and provides services to several NHS Trusts in Lincolnshire. Our aim is to provide the most current and relevant information to our customers through a range of information resources and services, both on site and remotely.

About the Role.

The Head of Library and Knowledge Services will ensure that stakeholders are provided with a continually developing cutting edge professional knowledge service, in line with, local, regional and national guidance, and service level agreements. This will require a high level of personal, leadership and managerial skills as well a keen interest to nurture and inspire a knowledge, and evidence-based culture. This is a demanding role that requires the ability to multi-task, prioritise and juggle conflicting demands, and communicate effectively.

Your extensive knowledge of the challenges presented within Libraries and Knowledge Services will enable you to provide expert advice to partners and healthcare professionals to shape the delivery of safe, high quality, effective clinical care to our patients.

What we’re looking for.

A qualified and chartered librarian, you will have a proven track record of delivery and possess strong leadership skills. Highly credible in your field, you will have a clear understanding of the Library and Knowledge Services agenda.

Lincoln County Hospital is the largest of our hospital sites, situated next to the cathedral quarter in the north of the city. The award winning Lincolnshire Heart Centre which has some of the best outcomes for patients in the country is based at the hospital. Staff tell us that they join the hospital because they can see the opportunities open to them to develop services and make their mark. Situated in Boston, Pilgrim Hospital provides a full range of clinical services and hosts the vascular centre for the Trust. The site has recently been enhanced by the building of a new clinical unit for the provision of maternity and gynaecology services. The hospital continues to be recognised for its hyper acute stroke services and has excellent services for patients who have a fractured hip.
