George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust is a healthcare provider based in Nuneaton that provides a range of hospital and community based care across the whole of Warwickshire as well as South West Leicestershire.

The Trust operates out of the George Eliot Hospital based on the outskirts of the town in North Warwickshire. This hospital provides a range of medical, surgical, women’s and children’s services including accident and emergency, maternity and cancer services.

Community services operate across the whole of Warwickshire and include Smoking Cessation and Specialist Dentistry. The Trust also runs Tuberculosis Services for Coventry and Warwickshire. The Trust shares resources and expertise through several clinical networks for services such as cancer care, coronary heart disease, pathology and women’s and children’s services.

The Role

We are offering a unique opportunity for a Band 5 nurse with a special interest in contraception and sexual health. The successful candidate will be given training within this specialised area.

Alternatively if candidates have experience and relevant qualifications within a contraceptive and sexual health setting Band 6 would be considered.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a special interest in sexual health. The post offers a great opportunity to the individual to progress their career within the sexual health services and develop clinical and leadership skills.

This is a particularly exciting time as the service undergoes a lot of change as we move forward with the development of a fully integrated contraception and sexual health service operating a hub and spoke model across Warwickshire including the development of on-line booking and electronic patient records.

The service is provided by a multi-professional team providing a comprehensive, evidence based and patient focussed service for Contraception, Genitourinary Medicine and HIV services.

The post will be based in Stratford upon Avon with scope to work in our spoke clinics in Leamington and Southam. The service is open Monday to Friday and Saturday morning, the role may include some evening and weekend work, so we are looking for staff with a willingness to work flexibly.
