Paediatric Ward

Staff Nurse

Part Time – 24 hours per week


Band 5

£22,128 - £28,746 per annum pro rata

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated nurse to work within our busy general paediatric unit.

It is essential that you have excellent clinical skills and that you are also an effective communicator with a positive attitude. You must be a Registered Children’s Nurse with the ability to assess, plan and manage the care of patients in a very fast paced environment.

Our paediatric department provides inpatient and out patient general paediatric services in and around the Burton area and provides care from birth to adolescence. The department has a committed philosophy of Family Centred Care where parents/carers are actively encouraged to be involved in their baby/child’s care with constant support and education from the nursing staff.

Our paediatric unit has 2 wards and takes up to 18 inpatients.

We have a separate PAU where children are assessed before either being admitted or discharged home.

We work closely with the Children’s Out Patient department, the Neonatal Unit, the Children’s Community team and the Emergency Department.

In October 2015 the CQC gave Paediatrics at Queens Hospital Burton an overall rating of ‘Good’ across all domains.
