The opportunity to join the maternity team in Cwm Taf University Health Board as a band 6 integrated midwife has arisen. Cwm Taf University Health Board maternity team care for approximately 4000 women each year. The local population has some of the highest social deprivation in Wales yet our outcomes compare very favourably with National outcomes.
We areproud of our strong team philosophy of woman centred care and increasing normality. Service developmentsin 2018 will see the availabilityof all four options for women accessing our service. Cwm Taf UHB maternity service will be able to offer home birth, freestanding midwifery unit in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and an Obstetric labour ward with an alongside midwifery unity in Prince Charles in the north of the community. The environment in Prince Charles is currently undergoing a major refurbishment which will be complete in late summer 2018 with the work in the South being complete early 2019. These refurbishments willensure that Cwm Taf UHB maternity service provide stateof the art facilities for our women.

All staff new to the Health Board are offered a well established Preceptor-ship and induction programmes and there is opportunity for continuous CPD, eg Newborn Examination, Neonatal Advanced Life Support, Regular study days on Water-birth and increasing normality. PROMPT courses are part of the annual multi professional mandatory training programme.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
