Full time & Part Time Opportunities

The Midwifery Services within Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals are exciting services to belong to. Since relocation to a purpose built maternity unit, increasing numbers of women are choosing Peterborough to birth their baby. We have developed our service and raised the profile of the co-located Midwifery Led Birth Unit including the promotion of using water for pain relief and to birth in our purpose built pool room,. Along with our community midwifery services we are able to offer the women enhanced choices for those choosing to access our service. Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals serve a diverse population and strive to offer continuity of care to the women seeking Maternity care.

We are looking for dedicated Midwives to cover Maternity Services within the Peterborough and Stamford areas. This is a rotational position with an on call element when working in the community setting.

Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals Maternity Service has all the elements of a successful, contemporary service with opportunities to develop professionally and experience varied and challenging situations, in a supportive and energised environment.

Employees commencing employment who require a DBS Check, or existing staff transferring to roles which require a DBS or higher level DBS than currently held, will be charged for the cost of the check (currently £50 for an Enhanced Check and £31 for a Standard Check). This payment will be deducted from your first months’ salary.

Appointment to any position is conditional on the satisfactory completion of the core NHS Employment Checks Standards. Information disclosed in your application will be checked and any offer of appointment may be withdrawn if you knowingly withhold or provide false or misleading information. In submitting an application form, you authorise the Trust to confirm any previous NHS service details via the Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) process should you be appointed. This includes a check with the DBS Update Service where registered.

Tier 2 applicants working in healthcare will need to provide a criminal record certificate for them and any dependants from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the 10 years prior to thier application.
