Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Physician with a special interest in Gastroenterology to be based at the Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. The successful applicant will hold a CCT in Gastroenterology and GIM or be within 6 months of obtaining this at the time of interview.

This is a replacement post and the holder will help develop a first class luminal gastroenterology service alongside 7 other colleagues, with a contribution to general medicine as part of a rota shared between 14 colleagues on the TWH site. A subspecialist in inflammatory bowel disease would be preferable.

The Gastroenterology department is a busy integrated unit with 6 endoscopy rooms and two dedicated Gastroenterology/General Medicine wards across two Hospital sites. All the endoscopy facilities have JAG accreditation for Training and provide Bowel Screening for its local population. The Trust has a 7-day endoscopy service and is looking to develop a 24/7 gastrointestinal bleeding service.
