The Trust wishes to recruit an Engineering Estates Officer to join a team of fellow engineers managing the Engineering Maintenance at the Freeman Hospital site.

The post-holder will be part of team of fellow engineers forming a multi discipline team covering all areas of engineer maintenance and minor projects.

The role will involve managing a small direct works team and specialist contractors to ensure the engineering services are compliant with Trust policies and approved Codes of Practice. The postholder will be appointed as an Authorised Person (after training) to a number of disciplines and will be required to manage and develop these systems ensuring they are safe and fit for purpose. The role requires leadership to ensure Safe systems of work are developed, reviewed and implemented.

We looking are person with depth of engineering experience preferably qualified to degree level (not essential) with good understanding of the requirements of Health Technical Memorandum (HDM) and Health Building Note (HBM with regard to Hospital engineering in an acute hospital environment.

A flexible approach to work will be required including participation in an out of hours on-call rota.

Hold a full UK driving licence.
