An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 5 Registered Nurses to join the team on Ward E14.

E14 sits within the Surgical Division at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and we specialise in colorectal and general surgery and the care of patients with colorectal conditions.
The ward has 28 beds and has a diverse clientele, caring for patients undergoing both elective and emergency surgery. Our surgeons are forward thinking and much of our surgery is now done laparoscopically. We use the principles of enhanced recovery aiming to reduce length of hospital stay. To support our ward staff, we have close links with a number of specialist teams, including Colorectal Nurse Specialists, Stoma Specialist Nurses, Acute Pain Team and the Critical Care Outreach Team. Working on E14 will give you the opportunity to develop your skills around pre and post-operative care, care of the patient with a stoma, care of the patient with a complex wound ,opportunity to manage patient with differing methods of pain management and caring for patients following transfer from Critical Care.

We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, highly motivated and willing to expand their knowledge and practical skills in the care of patients undergoing colorectal procedures. You should be able to demonstrate a compassionate and sensitive nature to individuals who have undergone surgery that could lead them to have an altered body image. You should be responsive to patient feedback, and been keen to innovate for improved patient experience, showing an ability to work alongside the multidisciplinary team.

You will be offered a period of preceptorship access to clinical supervision and have opportunity to complete an on line study programme in relation to stoma care.

The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
