Lead MRI Radiographer

We are seeking an experienced and confident candidate to fulfil the role of Lead Radiographer for the MRI Department of the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a busy and modern unit, equipped with Philips 1.5T and 3T Ingenia scanners. The service also operates a mobile MRI scanner sited at West Berkshire Community Hospital.

The Royal Berkshire MRI service is rapidly expanding, with plans to extend the main department and replace the community mobile during the next 12 months. The longer term service strategy includes further development of community service provision at the Royal Berkshire Bracknell Clinic. These are exciting new projects in which the successful applicant will play a significant role.

The successful candidate will have extensive MRI experience, a professional and practical attitude to their work, plus strong organisational and leadership skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.

Based primarily at the Royal Berkshire Hospital you will have delegated line management responsibility for the day to day operation of the unit.

You will be required to provide operational and managerial support to the staff working within MRI and will work closely with the Leads for the community MRI and CT services. You will support the Radiology Clinical Services Manager and their Deputy in the strategic development of the service and be a key member of the Radiology Management Team.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and MRI experienced Diagnostic Radiographers who satisfy the essential criteria of the person specification. Candidates must be State registered with the HCPC.

  • Relocation payment of first two month’s rent (up to a maximum of £900, for applicants outside Berkshire only)
  • Two years HCPC registration paid (for new registrants only)

*Golden Hello paid after satisfactory completion of probationary period. HCPC fee and rent paid into first month’s salary (PAYE applies). You are required to stay in employment with the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust for two years post appointment, otherwise payback scheme applies
