Solent NHS Trust currently has exciting opportunities for Health Care Assistants to join our Bank Staffing Service. You will part of a Local NHS Trust specialising in the provision of community health services within Portsmouth.

We currently require Healthcare Assistants Band 2 to work within the following services

Mental Health wards at St James Hospital - Oakdene, Maples Inpatient ward and Hawthorns ward.

Spinnaker ward, Elderly Rehabilitation at St Marys Hospital

Jubilee House, Palliative Care Unit in Cosham.

Applicants must have a minimum of 6 months experience working in a care setting, either a ward or residential home and hold a Care Certifcate/NVQ.

We welcome applications from individuals who are motivated, enthusiastic and possess good communication skills. You must be organised with a positive attitude towards flexibility and able to work a mixture of early, late and night shifts. You would be expected to work as part of a team, supporting our qualified nursing staff to care for patients.

Previous healthcare experience is essential in order to work on our busy wards.

Successful applicants will be required to carry out PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) restraint techniques prior to working on our Mental Health wards, part of this training will require a fitness test. This is a one week training course and you will be required to attend all 5 days in order to complete this training.
