We currently have a full time vacancy for an enthusiastic, creative and motivated individual to join our therapies team as our activities co-ordinator. We are an adult mental health inpatient service in Solent NHS trust treating people from all walks of life that are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness. There is a significant body of evidence to show that activities play a huge role in someone’s recovery journey. So we need an individual who can plan and organise a wide range of activity groups for adults who need to get back on the road to recovery.

The right person will have experience of running groups, lived or work experience of mental ill health and a creative mind which is flexible, open to new ideas and be able to put these into practice. You will be organised, work well as part of a team and have a good sense of humour. You will enjoy working alongside people and be passionate about helping folk to recover their equilibrium. You will have empathy and understanding.

You will be well supported and supervision will be regular and robust. Because we want you to be the best you can be, you will learn new skills alongside the Service users, Psychological therapy, and Occupational therapy and Nursing teams.

Examples of some of the groups we could provide dependant on who is in the service at the time are Newspaper group, creative crafts, music both playing and listening, writing, art work, adult colouring, walking , gardening, allotment, swimming, games, discussions, relaxation etc
