Senior Dental Officer - Band B

Salary (currently £60,450 - £70,704 pro rata pa)

Up to 30 hours per week

Permanent position

The English Riviera is an ideal base for exploring the beautiful coast and countryside of South Devon and Cornwall with miles of sandy beaches, glorious gardens, and bustling towns to discover. In our main areas of Brixham, Paignton and Torquay, you’ll find lots to see and do. And you’re also within easy striking distance of many of Devon’s other prime attractions such as Dartmoor National Park and Dartmouth and Exeterwhich is the vibrant capital of Devon just a 30-40-minute trip away from Torquay .

We are looking for a confident, competent colleague to work in South Devon Community Dental Service and join our dedicated dental team. The main focus of the service is Special Care Dentistry with all the accompanying aspects. All our dentists are expected to provide some urgent care to local people who cannot otherwise access dental care. More details can be found in the Job Description.

We offer an environment geared to professional and personal development to support your success in the above role. Accredited supervised clinical practice in provision of treatment with Conscious Sedation both Inhalation and Intravenous is available in order to support independent practice in Conscious Sedation.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent clinical and communication skills and have a compassionate, caring attitude.

Full GDC registration and a performer number to work in the Primary dental care setting are essential requirements for this role. The successful post holder will be keen to develop their skills in managing people with a wide range of special needs.

The ability to travel between hospitals/clinic premises, and the use of a vehicle to do this, is essential.
