Great Yarmouth and Waveney CCG is the statutory health commissioner for the people of Great Yarmouth and Waveney and is responsible for planning and organising health care services for around a quarter of a million people and with an annual budget in excess of £350 million.

We are a member organisation of all the local GP practices and are overseen by our Governing Body which includes a number of lay members. As members of the Governing Body, lay members share responsibility for ensuring the perspective and interests of patients and the public are at the forefront of every discussion and decision. They work alongside GPs, Practice Managers and Executive Team members to run the CCG on behalf of its practice members.

We are now seeking a two lay members from the local community to join us in a vital, demanding and fascinating role requiring a time commitment of around three days per month. The term of office for these posts will be for three years until 25 April 2021. Our lay members chair and lead a range of sub-committees such as Primary Care, Remuneration, Audit and Patient and Public Participation so experience in such areas would be advantageous. Specifically, we are seeking:

One lay member to lead on primary (GP) care, governance and remuneration. This lay member will Chair the CCG’s Primary Care Commissioning Committee and the Remuneration Committee

One lay member to lead on patient and public participation matters and to be a member of the CCG’s Audit Committee

Interviews for these two posts will be held in Beccles on Monday 26 March 2018.
