East and North Hertfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group is a leading NHS organisation with an award-winning governing body. Working closely with partner organisations, the CCG’s 300 staff design, plan and commission health services for more than half a million people and monitor the quality and effectiveness of those services.

ENHCCG has recently decided to fully take on the responsibility for commissioning general medical services from April 2018. This will include renewing and awarding contracts to provide GP services and performance managing contracts. We are building our Quality team to be able to support improved quality of care being delivered to patients and the development of primary care services in order to build a sustainable primary care system for the future.

This is an exciting opportunity to further improve Quality within primary care, working with colleagues in the CCG, GP’s, practice nurses and other key partners, to support practice to make and maintain improvements to the service they deliver. In partnership with the local university, the post holder will help shape the education of future primary care staff, exploring innovative ways to support and value the staff already in GP practices as well as attracting more into primary care roles.

The role will primarily have the responsibility for leading the quality monitoring of GP practices that require improvement and also undertaking quality improvement work across all of our practices. This will involve being an active membership of the Information and Risk Sharing Group feeding in areas of concern and undertaking/participating in Quality Assurance visits, support visits and monitoring actions arising from visits to bring about sustainable improvement.
