East and North Hertfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group is a leading NHS organisation. Working closely with partner organisations, the CCG’s staff design, plan and commission health services for more than half a million people and monitor the quality and effectiveness of those services.

Our forward thinking, financially robust and clinically-led organisation is based in the centre of Welwyn Garden City, a 1920s ‘garden city’ in the heart of Hertfordshire. Welwyn Garden City is 25 minutes from central London by train and easily accessed from the A1 and other major road networks.

As a Governance Manager, you will play an active role in the determination and implementation of corporate governance processes throughout the CCG. This will include working alongside the Corporate Governance Manager to:

    • Ensure that risk management operates as an integral part of the CCG’s assurance framework for corporate governance with communication of relevant information between risk management, claims, complaints and incidents,

    • Manage the CCG’s annual Internal Audit Programme, coordinating responses and reports to the Governance and Audit Committee,

    • Ensure health, safety and security risks and incidents are appropriately identified, reported, investigated, learning identified and action plans implemented which will reduce the chance of reoccurrence,

    • Enable the CCG to respond to any business continuity situations, and that where practical, measures are in place to maintain continuity of its core business referring to the lead for Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response, as appropriate.

    • Ensure all requests for information made under the Freedom of Information Act, are responded to within the timescales prescribed by the Act and in accordance with the CCG FOI procedure,

    • Provide highly efficient, professional and comprehensive confidential administration and secretariat support to the Governance and Audit Committee (and other Governing Body/sub-committee meetings as required), coordinating the timely distribution of papers and minutes,

    • Line management of Governing Body Administrator and Governance Support Officer.

We are seeking candidates with experience and knowledge of corporate governance within a healthcare setting. Excellent organisation and communication skills and the aptitude to work under pressure to tight deadlines are key requirements of this role. Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
