This is an exciting opportunity for Band 5 staff nurses to work within a team of innovative, caring nurses on their new venture.SWBH are looking for nurses who are excited and passionate about patient care for the future so the importance of initiative thinking and openness to change is vital.

At SWBH we are excited about our move to the new Midland Metropolitan hospital in 2019. We want nurses to experience and help us prepare for the transition and journey to this brand new hospital.

SWBH have vibrant and dedicated wards and are proactive in the care of the acutely unwell,Cardiology , Stroke and Neuro acute and rehab care , elderly care and haematology .We are looking for a team members to help drive our wards forward.

On a daily basis you will be working alongside a team of experienced nurses, Doctors, therapist and other specialists to deliver individualised high quality nursing care. There is a focus on early intervention to plan for discharge through the admissions process.

We offer a supernumerary programme to all nurses starting within SWBH along with a dedicated preceptorship programme to all nurses starting within SWBH along with a dedicated preceptorship programme for newly qualified nurses. We aim to provide a supported environment in which to develop your career within a dynamic forward thinking unit with opportunities to gain various extended competencies.

It is expected you will support the B6 in ensuring the nursing quality agenda is implement to ensure high standards of care are delivered as well as the 20/20 vision of the trust. We pride ourselves on the care we offer patients and their families with the central focus on delivering individualised care and patient care.

Training and development around the leadership role will be offered on our medical wards.

We are very keen to offer a dedicated rotation programme , so you can gain experience in all specialities, this will be supported by our dedicated practice development nurses.

The Midland Metropolitan Hospital is being built in Smethwick and will be open in Spring 2019. It will be the single acute hospital for Sandwell and West Birmingham, providing state of the art healthcare facilities for the population. The Midland Metropolitan will house the emergency department, maternity, acute inpatient wards and operating theatres. Sandwell Hospital remains the site for the Trust headquarters. As well as providing outpatient services, day case surgery and intermediate care beds, the Sandwell Treatment Centre will have a large urgent care centre. The City Hospital site will provide outpatient care and day case surgery from the Birmingham Treatment Centre. Intermediate care beds will remain on the City Hospital site along with the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre.
