Find out about NHS apprenticeships at events across England

Thousands of young people have the opportunity to find out about the range and variety of apprenticeships available to them in the NHS at a series of free events this year across England.

Many of the events coincide with National Apprenticeship Week (March 6-10), when the spotlight falls on the opportunities available from a range of employers to progress careers through training and practical experience in work.

Teams from Health Education England (HEE), which promotes apprenticeships in the NHS in England, will be on hand to offer advice and information at the following events.

The NHS is one of the most extensive providers of apprenticeships for people aged 16 and over, with more than 150 different roles available. As the country’s largest employer the NHS offers the widest variety of apprenticeships in patient-facing and supporting roles including trades, engineering, finance, management and pharmacy.

HEE is currently running a campaign under the social media hashtag #NHyeS which aims to highlight the range and variety of apprenticeships currently available in the NHS.

Laura Roberts, Director for the North and responsible for apprenticeships at HEE, said:

"The theme of this year's National Apprenticeship Week is 'Ladder of Opportunity' and we want to show people that the NHS provides opportunities for people of all age groups. Apprenticeships provide routes into a variety of careers in the NHS and are an excellent opportunity to earn, gain work experience and achieve nationally recognised qualifications at the same time. For those young people still wondering whether there's an apprenticeship opportunity for them, the answer is #NHyeS.
