Return to Practice – Nursing

“If you’ve ever thought about returning to practice, now is the time to do it.”

The next phase in a campaign to encourage previously registered nurses back to the profession has been launched by Health Education England.

The Return to Practice programme offers training to support nurses through the process of coming back to nursing and become re-registered. To make it as easy as possible, Return to Practice programmes have been refreshed by nurses for nurses across the country so that they can enjoy a supportive, flexible and varied learning experience.

The next phase in a campaign to encourage previously registered nurses back to the profession has been launched by Health Education England. This phase now includes the option for nurses in and around the region of Sheffield University to return to practice in the community and general practice settings.

Former nurses or those interested in returning to practice can find out more at the Return to Practice website (http://comeback.hee.nhs.uk).

Returning nurses can now expect:
  • Course fees to be paid
  • Additional financial support towards travel, childcare and book costs etc.
  • Information on how to find a course
  • Support in finding a clinical placement
  • Theory and clinical-based training
  • Access to a mentor
  • Simulation techniques to practice skills
  • Preceptorship support
