The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust consists of a 600 bedded large District General Hospital, which provides its services on the Countess of Chester Health Park, and a 64 bedded Intermediate Care Service at Ellesmere Port Hospital.

Electronics & Bio-Medical Engineering Department
You will be a member of a highly skilled and motivated team of Medical Technologists engaged in the maintenance and management of a range of anaesthetic, respiratory and electro-medical devices.
You will be responsible for repairs to component level, calibration and preventative maintenance on a varied range of patient connected equipment including life support ventilators, nursing incubators and anaesthesia machines.
Your role will take you into many clinical areas within the Trust including Operating Theatres, Intensive Therapy Unit, Accident & Emergency Department, Neo-Natal Unit and its customer sites.
You will need strong interpersonal/communication skills and initiative. You will need to be appropriately qualified in a relevant engineering subject and have relevant experience.
The post requires a minimum qualification of a HNC/HND or Degree Level.
Fault finding and corrective maintenance skills are imperative to ensure the safe operation and minimum downtime of patient connected electro-medical devices and to maximise patient safety and care.
Where necessary specialised training will form an important part of your medical engineering development. The appointment would be suitable for Engineers trained in Instrumentation due to the pneumatics, electronics and precision engineering principles utilised in these medical devices.
