As one of the largest and best performing Trusts in the country, we are delighted to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, experienced individual to lead the strategic direction and development of our Supplies and Procurement function.

You will have an established track record in a strategic leadership role in procurement and supply chain, and be able to demonstrate an in depth understanding of current issues, national policy and standards. Working closely with the Executive Team, senior managers and clinicians, you will develop and lead the implementation of the procurement strategy to ensure achievement of financial savings and value for money.

Suitable candidates for this role will combine broad and relevant senior level experience with a demonstrable record of delivery, innovation in change management, implementing best practice standards and adding value through the effective use of procurement, including e-procurement, e-tendering and inventory management systems. They will also have demonstrable budgetary and business planning experience. Personal attributes will include the ability to combine intellectual capacity, excellent negotiation and communication skills, a ‘can do’ attitude and credibility with senior colleagues to provide inspiring leadership for colleagues.

Essential requirements include degree or equivalent level education, management experience to Masters Level, membership of the CIPS, significant experience of supplies and procurement within the NHS, and extensive knowledge and skills obtained through a number of business critical supplies and procurement projects.

The salary will be commensurate with the level and responsibility of the post.
